I'm an IT freelancer, and jack of all trades. If anything, I specialize in high availability environments, such as data centres, and embedded systems. Linux is my favourite OS.

Having been luck enough to get a school-holiday job at a local company which made semiconductor fabrication equipment, I developed an interest in what goes on at the chip scale - including what hardware designers do to try and make things go faster, and what can go wrong.

Work on an embedded system for a client last year gave me cause to get involved with the Linux EDAC subsystem, which adds support to the Linux kernel for reading hardware error status information from the PCI, and memory controllers (at present) of computer hardware.

I like taking things apart, and making things out of scrap.
