UKUUG Annual General Meeting 2006

UKUUG's 2006 Annual General Meeting will be held from 6:15pm on Thursday 28th September, at University College London, Cruciform Building (Lecture Theatre 2), Gower Street, London, WC1E 6AE.

The post-AGM talk (7pm start) is entitled Introducting OpenSolaris. "This talk aims to introduce you to the world of opensolaris in terms of what it is, how it relates to Solaris, how it is developed and its future goals. "

The speakers are 2 members of the Solaris Security Technologies Group. Peter Dennis is is a Staff Engineer within Solaris sustaining engineering. His current role is that of Assistant Technical Lead for Solaris Nevada, this involves ensuring the quality of the code within Solaris and reviewing project requests which includes sponsorship requests from the OpenSolaris community.

Darren Moffat is a Senior Staff Engineer in the Solaris Security Technologies Group. He is one of the architects/leads for the Solaris Cryptographic Framework. He is also involved in Smartcard and various other security releated technologies/features. He is one of the developers/architects for PAM. He was the technical lead for the Flexible crypt(3c) [ Linux/BSD crypt(3c) compat ] and Secure Shell for Solaris 9 projects. He is one of the leaders of the OpenSolaris Security Community. He is currently working on encryption support for the ZFS file system.

You do not have to attend the AGM or be a member of UKUUG to attend the talk.

The meeting is in Lecture Theatre 2 of University College London's Cruciform Building, which is on the west side of Gower Street, opposite UCL's main site (Multimap, Streetmap).
