XFS is SGI's full 64-bit file system that can scale to handle extremely large files and file systems.
XFS features include:
This talk will concentrate on what had to be done to XFS to move from Irix
to Linux.
Steve Lord is a senior filesystem developer at SGI. Steve graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in computer science and has been working on Unix systems since 1983 and on filesystem development since 1992, working on OSF DFS, the Cray filesystem, and XFS and CXFS on Irix.
Having followed Linux development since 1993, when SGI decided to start working on Linux Steve finally gained the opportunity to start using Linux in his day job.
