2000 UK Linux Developers' Conference Linux for the Enterprise

Wichert Akkerman is a MSc Computer Science student at Leiden University and works part-time for Cistron as a Linux developer. He has been active in the Debian project since 1995 and in January 1999 he succeeded Ian Jackson to become the current Debian Project Leader.
His talk will focus on the distribution of software for Linux through the years. Beginning with source archives and examining the rise of packages and package managers will lead to a discussion of the development of a new package format and the various issues involved.
