Porting Linux to AMD x86-64 (sledgehammer)

Linux is currently being ported to the new AMD x86-64 architecture. The talk will give an overview of

• the process of porting Linux to a new architecture (ABI, compiler, kernel...)
• the x86-64 architecture
• 64-bit computing
• simulating the processor

The current state of the port will be shown running in the simulator.
