Up to version 2.2 of the GNU C library, the main objective was a complete implementation of the functionality required by current standards. With this being achieved the focus now shifts to adding functionality which isn't available in standards but still is needed.

I will talk about the new functionality but also about general improvements which were made. This includes - fast loading of dynamic ELF binaries - general improvements in the generation of the DSOs - thread-local locale support - optimized locale data handling and more.
