Stephen Coast - University College LondonPIC Programming with Open Source ToolsMicrochip Inc. produce a wide range of low cost micro-controllers with capabilities from blinking LEDs to controlling robots or washing machines. These micro-controllers are attractive to the hobbyist due to their low-cost, ease of use and widespread on-line community, and the devices are targetable by Open Source assemblers and compilers. For substantially less cost than the LEGO Mindstorms kit, it is possible to do much more. Building a webserver will be demonstrated! |
