Linux 2004 Conference and Tutorials Thursday 5th to Sunday 8th August Leeds, West Yorkshire |
Route to Maxi’sThe Friday night conference dinner is at Maxi’s chinese restuarant. This is quite close to the Medical Teaching Centre, but the shortest route on foot is far from obvious. Leave the building by the main entrance at the bottom, and turn left along Clarendon Way, up the (slight) hill. Follow the road as it curves round to the right till you get to a left-turn; the road ahead should be blocked with bollards:
Take that left turning. It’s a really short road; when you get to t’other end turn left again, so you’re heading down this hill:
Keep going down the hill, past the footbridge to St George’s Church on the left and a very green statue on the right, and follow the road as it curves round to the right:
Keep going, heading towards a junction with a bigger road:
When you reach the junction, turn right and cross the road:
Then take a fork to the left, along Burley Street, so you’re walking along this pavement on the left of the road:
Keep going till you’re just past this zebra crossing:
Then look left for these steps down:
Go down the steps, then at the bottom look over to your left. You can see the top of a building with a green roof that looks like it’s made of Lego:
Wander over to the building, for that is Maxi’s chinese restuarant, where much enjoyment can be had:
After the meal’s over, there are more directions for getting back into the city centre. |
