Linux 2006 Conference and Tutorials Thursday 29th June to Sunday 2nd July University of Sussex, Brighton |
Mark Leith - MySQLMySQL RoadmapUpdateable Views, SQL standard stored procedures, and triggers have long been considered a basic requirement of an enterprise-ready DBMS. MySQL 5.0 introduced support for these flagship features, as well as for a standard SQL-compliant INFORMATION_SCHEMA data dictionary. MySQL 5.1 adds support for table partitioning, temporal triggers, fast alter table, and disk storage for the MySQL Cluster storage engine. In addition, work is being done on integrating Jim Starkey's transactional storage engine (codename Falcon) into MySQL Server. The talk will briefly touch on these (and other) features currently present or under development, so you will be informed about the state of things, as well as providing you with the opportunity to ask follow-up questions on specific functionality that interest you. |
