The Linux Error Detection and Correction subsystem (EDAC)

The linux EDAC subsystem was added to the linux 2.6.16 kernel. This presentation will explain what the subsystem does:

• Background on Memory controller error correction, DRAM error occurance frequency, and related
• Ditto for PCI error detection
• Limitations of current hardware
• Advantages of deploying the EDAC system vs. the status quo
• Future developments
