The UKUUG Winter Conference is historically an event where not only prominent topics are discussed within the Conference presentations but also where members and friends meet to enjoy lively debate on a host of subjects.

The Winter Conference has in the past been held in December,but as this does not appear to be a convenient time for many ,the event has been moved to February.

The 2001 Conference will be held at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. The event will start after lunch on Thursday, 8 February (allowing time for travel)and finish on the Friday afternoon.

Papers are invited to address issues in large and heterogeneous systems, and in particular issues of security.

Other related topics would also be of interest, do not feel constrained by the list.

Submissions are welcome from members and non-members of UKUUG and particularly submissions by students.  Student's sponsorship may be available on a discretionary basis

Closing date for abstracts:	20 November 2000
Accepted authors notification:	22 November 2000
Programme Published:	mid-December 2000
Final papers due by:	15 January 2001

Method of Submission:  Potential authors may request further information by sending e-mail to winterconf@ukuug.org

Initial abstracts should be sent either as e-mail to winterconf@ukuug.org or in hard-copy format to the UKUUG Secretariat. We will acknowledge all submissions.

All accepted authors will be expected to submit a final paper in electronic format.
