Call for Papers

UKUUG will hold its next Winter Conference in Bournemouth on 25 and 26 February, preceded by a separate tutorial on the morning of the first day.

The main theme for this year's conference is High Availability and Reliability, with talks from Alan Robertson (IBM Linux Technology Centre) on Heartbeat, and Lars Marowsky-Bree (SUSE, Cologne) on the design and set-up of high-availability clusters.

The UKUUG Winter Conference offers an opportunity for members to meet, learn, and enjoy lively debate on a host of subjects, and to attend interesting presentations by prominent speakers in the open systems arena.

As well as papers on the general theme, the UKUUG wishes to encourage discussion on key aspects of systems and their administration: theory and practice; performance; network management; novel solutions to practical problems; integration; interoperability; and security. Work-in-progress presentations and project posters are also welcome; proposals for these should be submitted in the same way as for full papers.

Method of Submission

Potential authors may request further information by sending e-mail to winterconf@ukuug.org Initial abstracts should be sent as e-mail to winterconf@ukuug.org.
Abstracts should be accompanied by a short biography, and, ideally, should be about 250-500 words long. Final papers should normally last 30-40 minutes. If you need more time for your presentation, please tell us when you submit your abstract.
Submissions are welcome from members and non-members of UKUUG and particularly submissions by students. Student's sponsorship may be available on a discretionary basis. Submissions can be made by email to winterconf@ukuug.org.
