The LUUG LecturesUKUUG - London Unix User GroupWEDNESDAY 20th January 1999, 19:15Commonwealth Conference and Events CentreKensington High Street, London W8 6NQEric RaymondEric is well-known in the Open Source community as the author of The Cathedral And The Bazaar, a thought-provoking paper on different approaches to software release engineering. His numerous other projects include The New Hacker's Dictionary, many original Open Source items, and contributions to many more (GNU Emacs, ncurses, fetchmail, NetHack, Linux etc). There is no fixed title for this talk, but you can get a flavour of its likely contents from Eric's homepage Informal discussions will continue after the talk at a nearby restaurant. Kensington is not LUUG's normal stamping-ground, so suggestions of a suitable venue would be very welcome. Eric Raymond is in the UK to speak at the Netproject conference on Linux and Open Source Software: The LUUG lectures are sponsored by the UK Unix systems User Group, and are open to all comers. There is no admission charge. For further information on LUUG Lectures, contact Andrew Findlay.Phone: +44 (0)1895 203066 E-mail: Andrew.Findlay@brunel.ac.uk |
