Wikipedia controversy (again)
USA Today has a raving calm and measured editorial by John Seigenthaler, a former assistant to Bobby Kennedy, complaining, in rather florid language, about his Wikipedia entry, since ammended. Somewhat ironically, given that he’s a first ammendment (as in free speech) lawyer, he calls for Congress to enact tighter restrictions over what can and can’t be said online, and greater legal capacity for recourse (finding someone to sue) in cases such as these.
Again ironically, given that he is complaining about being libelled, he broadbrushes the Wikipedia community as “volunteer vandals with poison-pen intellects”, as opposed to, say, the professional vandals with poison-pen intellects over at the Boston Globe.
