The CD should be bootable in both 32- and 64-bit modes.
I've only been able to test the 32-bit kernel at home, so as
they say "Your Mileage May Vary". Rather than just simply
give you the base release I've also rsync 'd in the updates
tree, These packages are under the /updates
directory, and I have not replaced the 6.0 packages, so you
have to seek these out after everything else is installed.
A caveat: You will be asked by the install script if you
want to enable md5 psswords. Sulogin does not seem to cope
with this, or maybe with shadow files... whichever "cave."
The other gottcha I've found is the meta-disk initialisation
in /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit calls for programs
which are not there, so some fairly obvious editing is in
order before you try to set up any sort of RAID.
Red Hat are doing lots of good things for the PC community by paying for development of many useful drivers. Their official CD has packages which they have licenced, so if you are doing extensive work, or need support, I encourage you to support their efforts by buying the official disks.
In the meantime, Enjoy
