Andrew Cormack, UKERNA

Andrew has been head of the Computer Emergency Response Team for the JANET network (JANET-CERT) for two years. His team is responsible for providing advice and assistance on computer security to 800 universities, colleges and research institutions in the UK. He is also active in national and international efforts to promote the adoption of good computer security practice by everyone from network providers to users. Previously he was a systems administrator at Cardiff University, responsible for web and news services and involved in the daily problems of securing a large and complex network with a high speed connection to the Internet.
