|Andrew Findlay , Skills 1st Ltd|
Andrew is an independent consultant specialising in Systems and Network Management, Directories, and Security. Recent work includes the development and delivery of LDAP training courses, setting up networks for training Network managers and CCIE candidates, implementation of CiscoWorks2000 in a large retail bank, and reporting on Open Source components in Public Key Infrastructures for the Office of the E-Envoy.
Before going independent, Andrew managed the Systems team at Brunel University, providing a single-image NT+Solaris service to about 20,000 staff and students. At the same time he ran a small R&D group working on X.500 and LDAP: this attracted UK and European funding, and produced software that was incorporated in commercial e-mail products.
Andrew holds BSc and PhD degrees in Cybernetics from the University of Reading and is an active member of both the IEE and the UKUUG.
