Les Pritchard is a PhD student at the University of Wales, Bangor. He works in the area of distributed computing, specialising in TupleSpace and database technologies. Along with researching, he also lectures at the School of Informatics, where he teaches undergraduates and postgraduates Java and software development.
Les also runs a consultancy company, offering a range of network installation and support services. He.s worked in the professional world of computing for 10 years, experiencing a breadth of areas.
Whilst being a presenter on commercial radio, Les has been able to draw on his technical knowledge to help implement computerised playout systems at several stations. A follower of Open Source, he is always keen to find community developed alternatives to the commercial packages in all areas of his work.
