Matthew is a Ph.D student within the Distributed Systems Group at the University of Portsmouth. He received his B.Sc Business Information Systems (First Class Honours) from the University of Portsmouth in 2003.

Matthew's areas of interest are middleware for clusters and the emerging Grid infrastructure. He is a keen follower of the Open Source movement (especially Linux) in which he participates where possible. Recently he has been involved with the installation and testing of a new Linux Cluster, deploying version 3 of the Globus Toolkit as part of a UK GT3 Testbed, and developing javaGMA.
