Wieste Venema is the author of several well-known pieces of software, including TCP Wrappers, the Postfix MTA and (with Dan Farmer), the Coroner's Toolkit. He has won awards from SAGE and NLUUG in recognition of his outstanding achievements for the users of Unix and Open Systems.
He served as chair of FIRST, the global forum for incident response and security teams, until June 2002, and currently works at IBM's Thomas J Watson Research Center in the USA.
