This this a pocket reference for MySQL, the popular open source database management software. This is an almost complete implementation of ANSI SQL (with a commitment to filling the gaps in the the foreseeable future).

I think this is more or less exactly what you would want in a pocket reference. It assumes the user knows what he or she is doing and just lists the things you'd want to look up in a nice logical order.

It briefly discusses installation and setup, then lists data types, SQLkeywords in alphabetical order, operators, functions and table types.

The descriptions of the SQL keywords are very clear and helpful.

My only quibble is that there isn't a description of any of the various APIs. In most cases you have to build up an SQL statement as a string, but I thought it was lacking the commonly-used C and Perl APIs. Doubtless other readers would also have wanted descriptions of PHP and Python APIs.

Apart from that gripe, however, I'm sure that it is a handy reference for generating SQL statements.
