Samba: applied in the large.

This talk looks at the issues faced in deploying Samba to provide network file service over 4 sites for 20,000 users and 500+ clients (growing fast). Some performance figures will be given for Samba as an application server and as a home directory server.

Peter Polkinghorne works in the Systems Group of the Computing Service at Brunel University. For the past year he has been deploying Samba to provide network file service to the ever increasing horde of Windows NT clients. He does have Red Hat 5.2 at home.
