Linux 2001 Linux Developers' Conference
29 June - 1 July 2001,
Renold Building, UMIST, Manchester
Building on the very successful Linux conferences of recent years, this year the UKUUG drew Linux developers from around the world to Manchester.
This year's technical programme ran from lunchtime Friday, 29 June until lunchtime on Sunday, 1 July 2001.
The papers presented at the conference will appear on this site over the next few weeks.
Thanks to the generous support of IBM amongst others we were able to bring the conference fee right down this year.

PapersPapers from the conference are starting to become available online in HTML format . UKUUG Members should have received a conference CD which contains the papers in other formats.
On the Friday evening we arranged for a demonstration of the first stored-program computer, built in Manchester between 1946 and 1948.
This was followed by a Banquet at Manchester's top Chinese restaurant. Details . The banquet was sponsored by AMD
Exhibitors included IBM , SuSE , O'Reilly , Sybex , Linux Emporium and Definite Software . There were some generous discounts on offer!
