Mathias Brossard - IDEALX

Cryptonit is a PKI client-side security tool developed at IDEALX. It does key/certificate handling (LDAP import, CRL checking, ...), file encryption/signature and self-decrypting files generation.

The features that set Cryptonit apart from its competition derivate from its Open Source nature:
  • Source access compared to binary and closed-source distribution
  • Use of standards compared to proprietary formats (used for lock-in)
  • No cost compared to expensive licences (incompatible with full scale deployments)
  • Multi-platform compared to Windows only

Cryptonit is the fruit of the feed-back IDEALX gets from corporate businesses and administrations on what pieces of Open Source Software are missing (whether proprietary solutions exist or not).
