Grids for e-Science in Europe

The EGEE project (Enabling Grids for e-Science in Europe) is a joint European effort of 70 institutions in 27 countries to develop and support a standardised Grid framework for deployment in scientific and industrial environments.

The talk highlights the history of Grid computing and gives an overview of current and future developments.
