After dinner last night, the British Computer Society presented Linus Torvalds with the Lovelace Medal – awarded to him seven years ago! Photos.

Stephen Hemminger’s talk on TCP congestion testing has been rescheduled for 16:30 on Monday in Churchill Room D.

The Conference Dinner on Sunday evening and the Linux HA tutorial (T6) on Wednesday are now fully-booked. We are still accepting other bookings at the venue subject to the late-booking fee.

The full event timetable is now available also in ical formats for diaries.

On Monday evening we have a trip to the air museum at Duxford. This is kindly sponsored by The Positive Internet Company and Collabora and tickets are free for those registered for the conference.

The conference dinner on Sunday evening will be followed by a talk about the history of computing in Cambridge.

Registration is still open by telephone, email, fax and post. Places can still be booked for the LPI exams on Tuesday afternoon.

The booking deadline is Friday 17th August, after which a late booking fee applies.

We received a high number of excellent talks and tutorials and have decided to move some of the tutorials to Wednesday 5th September. The main conference will still run from Sunday to Tuesday and it will consist of three parallel streams: two streams of talks and one stream of tutorials.

LinuxConf Europe 2007

At the start of September 2007 a series of linux events will take place in Cambridge, UK. From Sunday 2nd to Wednesday 5th there’ll be a signicant new technical conference, incorporating the best elements from the UK Unix User Group’s Linux Developers’ Conferences (2006) and the German Unix User Group’s Linux-Kongress (2006).

This event will overlap with the invitation-only 2007 Linux Kernel Developers’ Summit supported by USENIX on Wednesday and Thursday. Python enthusiasts might also wish to attend PyCon UK in Birmingham on the weekend following, 8th to 9th September.
