Nigel Griffiths, IBM

IBM with the pSeries and OpenPower machines enables Virtualisation of processors, memory, network adapters, consoles, disk space and CDROM. This session will quickly cover the basic principles but will then (mostly) be run as a live demonstration of running and administrating multiple logical partition on one small 2 CPU/4GB RAM/4 disk machine. This will probably include the user GUI, creating and starting partitions, installation of Linux, cloning partitions, and performance monitoring. The system will be managed using IBM's Integrated Virtualisation Manager (IVM) running on the machine itself and using the onboard POWER5 features for virtualisaion.
