PGP Key-signing Party

We will be holding a PGP key-signing party during the UKUUG Winter Conference. This will take place at the Paragon Hotel, from 1815 to 1915 on Thursday 24th February (prior to the conference dinner).

If you would like to take part, please upload your public key to our keyring:

      gpg --keyserver --send-keys _YOUR_KEY_ID_
To ensure inclusion in the list of participants, please send your key before 1600 on Tuesday 22nd February.

How the party works

We will produce a list of participants, keys, and fingerprints. At the party, you will be expected to mingle informally and find other participants who's keys you have not signed yet. Upon meeting, you verify your keys on each other's lists and validate each other's ID.

On the day, make sure you bring along:

  1. Positive picture ID (e.g. passport)
  2. Your key ID, key type, HEX fingerprint, and key size
  3. A pen/pencil or whatever you'd like to write with....
Note that there's no need to bring a computer to the key-signing party. The purpose of the party is to verify the identities and key fingerprints of participants - the actual signing of keys is done later. For more information about key-signing parties, see the GnuPG Keysigning Party HOWTO.
